Turtles

For me there is nothing better than seeing a animal in it's natural home. We have this place in our town where you can see snapping turtles up close (with a little bread to lore them out). We had thought a few years back when they did work to the road near the swamp that the turtles had left the area, but, today we decided to give it a try and boy was I happy as ever to see all the snappers still living in the swamp (where we could see them)! Of course Caleb loved it too (the twins fell sleep in the van) and could not get enough of the turtles. Next time we will go earlier in the day when the painted turtles will likely show their shells as well! Yippeeee I am so excited that they are still there!

This is the first one we saw, he is just a baby

This guy came almost all the way out to eat some bread

I am not sure how well you can see this guy, I think he was the oldest one we saw, he was pretty big!

How cool!
We get tons of box turtles here, but now snappers.
My kids just think they are such cool pets. (we had a boxed turtle named Tuck- think Woder Pets- for a 2 years.)
ps LOVED the pic of Aron lifting Caleb up to see them. So so so cute!!!

Too cool! My mom used to work at a fish hatchery. They had tons and tons of ponds on their property (for the fish, of course) but there were ALWAYS turtles there. I LOVED going to see them all.
